A Taste of Tradition

Clay Oven was founded in 2005 to bring to Winnipeg the spirit of the roadside tandoors—clay ovens—found in the bustling streets of India, where families gathered to share freshly prepared traditional meals.

Every dish at Clay Oven is made from scratch using time-honoured family recipes. We prepare our paneer and yogurt in-house, cook every order to the guest's preferred spice level, and serve a full menu of chicken, lamb, goat, seafood, vegetarian, and vegan dishes alongside Indo-Chinese Hakka specialities—the kind of authentic East Indian cooking that has earned Clay Oven its long-standing reputation in Winnipeg's culinary scene.

From our flagship Kenaston Common location in southwest Winnipeg, with its spacious dining room and private event lounge, to our Downtown Blue Cross Park location overlooking the Winnipeg Goldeyes ballpark near The Forks, Clay Oven welcomes guests for dine-in, takeout, delivery, catering, and special celebrations seven days a week.

Inspired by the ancient tradition of roadside tandoors—clay ovens—of India, we cook every dish to order with fresh, hand-prepared ingredients and the warmth of family hospitality.

Our Philosophy
